Feds say the village president of Channahon hasn't paid federal income taxes for several years. Joseph Cook, 45, has been charged with failing to file individual federal income taxes for 2005 through 2008 and corporate income taxes for 2007 and 2008. Cook earned $250,000 as village president during the years he failed to file personal income taxes.
Last week, the city of Chicago and the Regional Transportation Authority filed a lawsuit against the cities of Channahon and Kankakee alleging a kick-back scheme on taxes that cost the Chicagoland area millions of dollars.
