U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-8) says he will skip President Barack Obama's jobs speech on September 8. Instead, the Tea Party politician says he will be in Illinois to attend a small business forum in the 8th congressional district.
“I don’t see the point in being a prop for another of the President’s speeches asking for more failed stimulus spending and more subsidies for his pet projects," said Walsh in a statement. "Instead, I will fly back to Illinois right after Thursday’s votes to talk to small businessmen and women, the real job creators, about creating real jobs.”
The scheduling details for the forum have yet to be released.
ahh, Joe,, you really cant be for real,, Yes, more taxes on the rich will infact bring materially more revenue.. The rich have no interest in employing more of the average american anymore,, They will only outsource the jobs offshore so they can earn more profits to enable themselves to built bigger houses for themselves..Anyone who thinks keeping taxes low on billionaires will provide more jobs for Americans is dreaming..They think of themselves only in general, Ocourse , its generally the Cons,,(Republicans) who support this theory..Gee , I wonder why.
I may disagree with Rep. Walsh but he is perfectly free to skip the speech and come home. Listening to people from the 8th Congressional District (who he represents) is more important than listening to a speech that he can read in the paper the next day.
What's the big deal about him not attending?
