African Americans for Legislative Redistricting has requested that the three-judge panel overseeing the GOP's lawsuit against the remap process add the organization as a defendant in the case. The group has asked to be included because they helped Democrats draw the new congressional districts during the remapping process.

The organization is comprised of several groups including the Chicago Urban League, the Rainbow Push Coalition, the Cook County Bar Association, and the Woodlawn Community Development Corporation.
