Congressman Danny Davis (D-7) is endorsing Raja Krishnamoorthi in the race for the 8th congressional district, according to the Democratic candidate's campaign. The congressman is scheduled to officially endorse Krishnamoorthi's campaign next weekend and will headline a fundraiser for the candidate on September 30.

"It is clear that Raja is the candidate with the most economic experience and the best ideas for dealing with the economic challenges that face the middle class," said Davis. "Raja is totally committed to strengthening small businesses and producing jobs for the middle class."

Illinois' 8th congressional district seat is currently being held by U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R), a Tea Partyer. Krishnamoorthi is up against Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq veteran and former assistant secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs, for the Democratic nomination in the race.
