Residents of the 11th congressional district plan to rally for jobs outside of U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger's (R-11) Joliet office this afternoon.
The rally is set to take place today at 4 p.m. as constituents "gather to protest Rep. Kinzinger’s signing of the Grover Norquist pledge to never raise taxes, and his lack of action in Congress on creating jobs for the citizens of the 11th Congressional District," according to a press release.
"Because Rep. Kinzinger has held only one public event in Joliet since January, and that was to speak to the Chamber of Commerce, local residents will come to his office to tell their stories on what it means to be unemployed or underemployed in Joliet," the release continued.
The residents also plan to present Kinzinger's office with a petition signed by thousands of constituents calling on Kinzinger to abandon his Norquist pledge and support the Buffett Rule.
