Senat President John Cullerton is expected to rally for tax cuts for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE) during the upcoming fall veto session set to start on Tuesday.
The proposal on the table would change state law so that the exchanges are only taxed on trades or sales that take place in the state as opposed to being taxed on all of those transactions regardless of the where the seller or buyer is, which is current law.
