Unemployed residents of Joliet are back at it today as they plan to rally at U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger's office for better job opportunities in the area. The group, along with help from Stand Up Joliet, will call on Kinzinger to hold a public forum on the job crisis in the area. The rally's organizers say Kinzinger needs to focus on the needs of residents in the 11th congressional district, even if he plans to run in a different district in 2012.
The jobs crisis has hit Illinois particularly hard. In Joliet - where Rep. Kinzinger’s district offices are located - the unemployment rate is nearly 4% higher than the national average. Due to congressional redistricting, it is likely that Rep. Kinzinger will not be running in the 11th district in next year’s elections, but in the 16th district. The unemployed Joliet delegation wants to remind the Congressman he still has a responsibility to represent them for one more year.
The residents plan to rally outside of the Kinzinger's Joliet office today at 11 a.m. at 2701 Black Road.
Of all the people, why protest Kinzinger? He's been in office for ten months. He's hardly the dictator of America. The recessions has been around since at least 2008. Democrats have controlled the Presidency, Senate, and House from 2009-2011 and promised "Hope & Change". We were all supposed to be living in paradise by now. People used to faint during Obama speeches. The real truth is that polticians don't control the economy or jobs in a positive way. There are many things that they can do to hurt the economy -- raise taxes and increase debt, but what can they possibly do to improve the economy? I don't know. You don't know and the politicians don't know. Don't raise taxes. Don't get us further into debt and leave people to their own devices to do what is in their best interest. People with money will start to invest in new businesses, more people will work and the economy will get moving again.
"People with money will start to invest in new businesses..."
Kinda like a trickle-down policy? Hmm, interesting. I wonder if that would work.
(-:
Don't think so......even if you look back at the Reagan administration...wasnt it tax the rich? BUT the mddle man, aka middle class should not carry the burden either~!
"People with money will start to invest in new businesses"; yeah, overseas.
