In response to today's jobs report by the Labor Department, Joliet residents say they are going to continue their effort to "gain a meeting with the elusive Rep. [Adam] Kinzinger (R-11)" on the unemployment crisis with another protest. Residents of Kinzinger's district will converge outside the congressman's Joliet office at 10:30 a.m. to ask the legislator to respond to a letter requesting a meeting on the lack of good jobs in the area, which they delivered to his office on October 21. The letter asked Kinzinger to respond within a certain number of days, which he did not and has still failed to do.
According to a press release by Stand Up Joliet, "there has been a growing concern in the IL-11 District that the congressman has forgotten about his unemployed constituents and is solely focused on getting elected in his new District—IL-16."
