The race between Ald. Ricardo Munoz (22nd) and incumbent Dorothy Brown for Cook County Circuit Court is on with the city politician's candidate petition filing on Monday.
“This is an exciting day,” Munoz said in a statement. “I’m a lifelong reformer. My career has been about cleaning up government.”
Progress Illinois has previewed the race between Brown and Munoz at different points this fall, speaking with both candidates about their thoughts about the race and challenges facing the office.
Meanwhile, a fourth candidate has jumped in the race against House Speaker and 22nd District Representative Michael Madigan.
Michele Piszczor is the latest to jump in the race for the Democratic nomination in the district. Mike Rodriguez and Olivia Trejo are also running for the Democratic nomination in the 22nd district, while Robert Handzik has jumped in on the Republican side.
Politicians will always be the same, haha.
