Illinois' unemployment rate has fallen slightly to 10 percent, according to new numbers by the Illinois Department of Unemployment Security. The unemployment rate in Illinois is now 10 percent, down from 10.1 percent, as the state added 600 jobs. Agency officials say the state has seen job growth in eight of the past 11 months.

The national unmployment rate is lower than Illinois' at 8.6 percent.
