Teamsters Joint Council 25 -- which represents 20 teamster locals in the Chicagoland area -- announced today that they've endorsed Tammy Duckworth in the 8th district Democratic primary race for Congress. Joint Council 25 President John Coli pointed out in a statement that Duckworth has worked closely with the union to, "help Veterans and their families as they transition back to civilian life."

Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran and former Obama administration Veteran's Affairs appointee, is engaged in a competitive primary race with Raja Krishnamoorthi, the former Illinois Deputy Treasurer. Duckworth also picked up the endorsement yesterday of the SEIU Illinois Council, which sponsors this web site.

The primary winner will almost certainly take on GOP incumbent, and Tea Party darling, U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-8).
