Compromise Ward Remap Gets Nod From Expert

The compromise Chicago ward map has been approved by a consultant commissioned by the city council to ensure that it would pass legal muster. The approval also paves the way for a true compromise, as Ald. Danny Solis (25th), head of the Latino caucus, said the caucus would sign on to the compromise map if it okayed by the redistricting expert. For more on the remap compromise, see Progress Illinois' latest story on the process.

After a hearing this afternoon and one tomorrow, along with a Rules committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, the full council could vote on the map Thursday.
