David Axelrod is already making plans for life after overseeing President Barack Obama's re-election campaign. Starting in 2013, Axelrod will head a new political institute at the University of Chicago.
"My goal now is to help encourage young people who are going to be the David Axelrods and better in the future so that we'll have a new generation of people who'll be active in politics and public life," Axelrod said, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Axelrod says he will attempt to model the new U. of C. project after the Institute of Politics at Harvard University, for which he is currently a board member and plans to finish his last year in his role there.
