In his ongoing quest to make Chicago more of an internationally prominent city, Mayor Rahm Emanuel wants the city to open tourism offices in Brazil, Germany, and Japan this year. The mayor announced his goal in a speech to the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau yesterday, adding that he would like to see the city have 50 million visitors a year by 2020.
Chicago has already opened tourism offices in London, Mexico City, and Toronto.
