An Illinois House committee is set to meet in Chicago to discuss whether State Rep. Derrick Smith should be expelled. Smith was arrested in March on federal bribery charges for allegedly taking a $7,000 bribe to recommend a daycare center for a state grant.Smith has plead not guilty.

Earlier this month, a House panel determined that enough evidence was piled up against Smith to warrant disciplinary action by the chamber, which ranges from censure, reprimand or expulsion.
