Protesters will take their complaints to the state Capitol building today to rally against the scheduled closure of the Jacksonville Developmental Center. Led by State Rep. Jim Watson (R-Jacksonville), the ralliers will call on Gov. Pat Quinn and the Illinois Department of Human Services to reverse the decision to shutter the facility.

Supporters of the clinic are also demanding a report on claims that residents were moved out of the center by a state contractor with only 48 hours' notice and no input on their readiness for relocation. The group also wants the state to release monthly progress reports on the clinic's relocated residents.
