The city of Chicago submitted a $15.6 million NATO summit reimbursement request to the federal government Friday afternoon, most of the request is for the feds to compensate Chicago for police overtime work. Meanwhile, World Business Chicago (WBC), the non-profit that acted as the NATO host committee, raised $33 million in private donations for the summit.
WBC has spent about $15 million of this donation money, meaning there is about an $18 million balance. WBC President Rita Athens told the Chicago Tribune that, "The difference will remain until all invoices have been collected and
