Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill Tuesday greenlighting $1.6 billion in transportation projects throughout the state and shepherding in the next phase of the Illinois Jobs Now capital program. The funds will be used for transit, rail and road projects and will lead to the creation of about 20,000 jobs.
Quinn announced that an additional $93.8 million will go to the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) in order to fund the repaying of 100 miles of roads at major arterial streets in the city.
