The Chicago Transit Authority is offering Chicago Public Schools students free rides during the Chicago Teachers Union strike. The free bus and train rides will be offered between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. to help students get to and from the 144 CPS contingency plan sites as well as public libraries, parks and other locations housing students during the strike.
Students must show their school IDs, reduced fare cards or another form of identification for the free bus or train ride. The free rides will continue throughout the duration of the CTU strike.
