So says the latest numbers from RealtyTrac, a California company that compiles foreclosure data. One of every 298 housing units in the Land of Lincoln had a foreclosure filing last August, up 42 percent from August 2011.
Foreclosure activity has increased every month of 2012 in Illinois, partly because the glacial pace of foreclosure court delays the process of lenders seizing properties.
