The plot has again thickened in the saga of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Chicago). FBI officials launched an investigation into Jackson separate from the ongoing Congressional probe regarding his ties with imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The investigation apparently began months ago and looks at whether Jackson misused campaign cash in order to decorate his house, which the Wall Street Journal first reported.
Jackson put his Washington, D.C. townhouse on the market last month before withdrawing it from public listings.
As PI looked at last week, Jackson has been on a medical leave of absence since June 10, diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but is still expected to win re-election November 6.
