U.S. Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and Democratic challenger Brad Schneider of Deerfield held their final debate last night in a 10th district Congressional race that's a virtual tie. The debate was on WTTW and can be viewed here.
One notable exchange was on extending the Bush tax cuts. Scheider said that he agrees with President Barack Obama's plan to extend all the Bush tax cuts except for the two percent of Americans who make more than $250,000 a year. Dold said he thought all the tax cuts should be extended, including those for the wealthy. But he brandished his centrist credentials by stating that, unlike most Republicans, he was willing to look into tax hikes.
