The We Ask America polling group did a survey on October 28 of likely voters in Illinois' six congressional districts that are highly competitive, according to a report in Capitol Fax. The polls give a general overview of where the 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 17th district races are a week before the election.
A couple of results that stand out: Democrat Bill Enyart has overtaken Republican Jason Plummer in the 12th District contest. Enyart was a late entrant to the field, securing the nomination after Brad Harriman dropped out of the race.
Also, the poll reinforces findings from the Chicago Tribune/WGN survey last Friday that a once deadlocked 8th district race between Democrat Tammy Duckworth and U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-McHenry) has turned in the challenger's favor. The poll has Duckworth ahead 54.6 percent to Walsh's 45.4 percent.
