Illinois' marriage equality bill has passed a House committee by a 6-5 vote. The legislation is now headed for a full House vote.

If passed, the bill would legalize marriage between two people, not limiting it to being between one male and one female. Gov. Pat Quinn says he will sign the bill if it passes the state legislature.

The Illinois Senate passed the marriage equality bill on Valentine's Day.
