Below is some video footage from the protest held yesterday in front of Bank of America's Chicago offices in solidarity with the Republic Workers sit-in.
In the first clip, you can see the demonstrators chanting, "You got bailed out, we got sold out!" Next comes the speech by Bob Kingsley, president of the United Electrical Workers, the union that represents the Republic laborers. "We're gathered here today on a matter of economic justice," he tells the crowd. "Our members at Republic have become the face of the challenges and suffering facing America's working class. But they have also, importantly, become the face of the resistance."
Kingsley is followed by Joe Isobaker from Service Employees International Union Local 73 (whose Illinois state council sponsors this website). Watch:
Also of note, North Carolina workers picketed Bank of America's national headquarters in Charlotte yesterday "to show support for their brothers and sisters in labor."
