Check out this mini-documentary from GOOD on the innovative parking meter technology being tested by the city of San Francisco.  As you can see, the emphasis is on efficient management of congestion and traffic -- rather than simply growing the bottom line. Too bad Chicago has to wait 74 more years to explore such possibilities.
