The race for the 20th Ward aldermanic seat has been a feverish one to say the least. The candidate list of five was whittled down to two in February - even though one former candidate remained active on the campaign trail - with incumbent Willie B. Cochran earning 46 percent of the vote to Grammy award-winning rapper Che "Rhymefest" Smith's 20 percent.

Unemployment, business development, education, crime, and foreclosures, including a specific home with a busted water pipe, were of most concern to both the candidates and residents that we spoke with in the area. Check out our video package to hear more from a long-time ward resident, Ald. Cochran and Rhymefest, who begins the piece by explaining part of his strategy for getting to a runoff:
Keep checking back to Progress Illinois for election coverage, including tonight's liveblog with reports from candidates' headquarters, including the 20th Ward.
