Daley's Sneak Attack

As expected, Mayor Daley introduced an ordinance today that would task the Chicago inspector general's office with rooting out patronage and give it the power to investigate aldermen. When the proposal first surfaced on Monday, Archpundit wondered if it would come with a boost in the IG's budget.  Now we've got our answer: Ald. Joe Moore (49th Ward), who introduced a similar measure last year, tells the Tribune that Daley's plan includes no additional funding and therefore could result in the office being spread too thin.  Inspector General Joseph Ferguson praised the proposal earlier this week.  But will he also push for more resources?
