Roskam The Health Care Buff?

Republicans have fine tuned their free-market pitch for tomorrow's bipartisan health care summit and party leaders have tapped Illinois' own Rep. Peter Roskam to deliver their message. That not exactly surprising. After all, Roskam hasn't shied from towing the party line, even when it required some fearmongering.

Regular readers may recall that the Wheaton Republican spent the better part of the past year enthusiastically scaring the public about the threat of health care rationing and suggesting that Democrats had a secret agenda to kill off private insurance policies. He even went so far as to deflect attention from the insurance industry's abusive practices by blaming skyrocketing premiums on injured patients who sued for damages.

As we've said all along, either Roskam doesn't grasp the details or he's deliberately deceiving the public.  Apparently, that qualifies him to represent the Republican Party on this issue.
