Democratic candidate for the 8th congressional district Tammy Duckworth released a video today depicting the differences between her and incumbent Joe Walsh (R).
After showing a clip of Walsh declaring "we are at war in this country," Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran who lost her legs in combat, added that "going on Fox News and spouting Tea Party slogans is not fighting for your country."
Take a look:
Last week, Walsh announced his decision to run in the 8th district instead of the 14th district, which is where his home is currently located under the district remap. Duckworth also points out in the video that Walsh's bounce back to the 8th district was spurred by a reported $3.5 million in fundraising assistance promised by Speaker John Boehner (R). A spokesman for Boehner denied the report, but a rep for the National Republican Congressional Committee told Politico that they do expect Walsh to get some form of financial assistance from the party.
