Krishnamoorthi Releases Economic Plan (VIDEO)

Democratic candidate in the 8th congressional district Raja Krishnamoorthi released a video today offering a look into his life and his aspirations for Washington.

Krishnamoorthi, a former state Deputy Treasurer, also released a 24-page economic plan that combines and expounds on his already-released policy blueprints for housing, jobs, and small businesses.

“Many people in our district are hurting in these difficult economic times,” Krishnamoorthi said in a press release. “That's why we need a leader who has the experience on jobs and the economy to make the tough decisions and fight for real solutions to renew prosperity for the middle. I believe it's my duty to be straightforward with voters about the economic challenges we confront and the solutions I would propose in Congress.”

Krishnamoorthi's economic plan lists nine approaches he would take to restore the economy, including infrastructure investment, increasing manufacturing, and addressing inequities in the tax code.

In his video, Krishnamoorthi noted, while showing video of incumbent Joe Walsh (R) during one of his infamous rants, that Tea Party extremists are incapable of mending the cracks in the nation's economic system. Take a look:

Yesterday, Krishnamoorthi's campaign announced endorsements from Americans for Democratic Action, the Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Workers Administrative Council of IL District #1, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Frank Avila. Krishnamoorthi is up against former Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary Tammy Duckworth in the March 20 primary.
