How To Vote By Mail (Video)

Early voting started this week and Cook County Clerk David Orr has released a one-minute video to help make the process easier for those interested in casting their votes from home.

"All registered Illinois voters can vote by mail," Orr said in a release. "It's as easy as 1-2-3."

Take a look:

To vote in the March 20 primary by mail, request a ballot online or call (312) 603-0946. Ballots can also be picked up at one of the six Cook County Clerk offices.

The deadline to request a ballot is March 15. Ballots must be mailed to the Clerk's office and postmarked by March 19 to be included in the primary election count.

Attention serious republican voters:

I suggest if you want your vote to count, DO NOT VOTE BY MAIL!

It is my opinion the problem with requesting a vote by mail ballot in Democratic Cook County is;

There is the risk of never receiving the ballot once you have checked “republican” as your party affiliation on the application. Then, if you decide to vote in person after never receiving your ballot, they will most likely deny you the right to vote because the “system” will see that you have already ‘voted by mail”.

I’m taking this election very serious and planning to vote at my neighborhood polling place on March 20, 2012.
