Obama Set To Visit Argonne National Laboratory Next Week

President Barack Obama will be visiting Argonne National Laboratory, near Lemont, next Friday to "focus on American energy," according to an administration official.

Speaking at the first science and engineering research national laboratory in the nation, located in Chicago’s western suburbs, Obama will concentrate on promoting the advancement of alternative energy.

Sequester cuts of $85 million that went into effect March 1 is set to impact research facilities like Argonne's, but officials would not comment on whether that will be part of Obama’s discussion.
