The ultra conservative Koch brothers, Charles and David, are reportedly eyeing a buy of part or all of the Tribune Company, which could include a purchase of the Chicago Tribune. A purchase of the Tribune Company newspaper group would include not only the Tribune, but other major newspapers as well, like the Baltimore Sun, and LA Times.
If the conservative billionaires buy the entire Tribune Company, the buy would include some 20 television stations, including Chicago's WGN.
According to Politico, the Koch brothers are staying mum on the rumor, neither affirming or denying it. Meanwhile, an LA Weekly report by Hillel Aron takes a look at how the potential buy could happen and where all the talk possibly originated.
