The Chicago branch of the FBI named Robert Holley as its new Special Agent in Charge.
Holley takes on the role in October and will replace Cory Nelson, who served just seven months in Chicago before announcing plans to retire.
Holley has already spent time in the Windy City when he was in charge of counterterrorisom efforts in the Chicago office regarding the case against David Headley, who was involved with the terror attacks in Mumbai, India back in November 2008.
In 2010, Holley was appointed to serve as a section chief in the FBI's Counterterrorism Division, where he was responsible for all U.S.-based international terrorism investigations. Holley was later selected to be the special agent in charge of the Indianapolis Division in 2011.
Holley was appointed as deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division in 2012.
