President Barack Obama selected Chicagoan Bruce Heyman, who works as Goldman Sachs' managing director of private wealth management, for the job of U.S. ambassador to Canada.
The Chicago native and his wife served on Obama's national finance committee. During Obama's 2008 run for president, the two helped pool campaign contributions between $200,000 to $500,000. They also helped bundle some $500,000 in campaign contributions for Obama's re-election campaign.
According to the White House, Heyman is connected to The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Fix the Debt Coalition.
