U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin sat down with several Illinois mayors Wednesday to discuss priorities for 2015. The municipal leaders were in Washington D.C. to attend the annual U.S. Conference of Mayors.
Durbin talked with Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore, Lake Barrington Mayor Kevin Richardson, Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig and Mark Baloga, executive director of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, according to the senator's office.
Topics that were discussed include transportation and infrastructure initiatives, helping working families, marketplace fairness and local economic development.
"The Illinois mayors and local leaders who are here in Washington today represent an important voice for each of their communities, cities and townships back home," Durbin said in a statement. "I look forward to working with them to help create good-paying jobs, bring home federal dollars, and support working families across our state."
