The first day of early voting in Chicago reached an all-time high Monday, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

The unofficial vote count for Monday was 7,914 as of 5:04 p.m. 

Here are the early voting counts for the previous elections that allowed for voters to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day:

• 831 on the first day of Early Voting ahead of the February 2007 Municipal Election (the first with Early Voting)
• 6,133 on the first day of Early Voting ahead of the February 2011 Municipal Election
• 5,522 on the first day of Early Voting ahead of the February 2015 Municipal Election
