Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D-IL,8) will reportedly declare herself a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the 2016 Illinois U.S. Senate race on Monday.
Should Duckworth win the Democratic nomination, she would go up against U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL), who is seeking re-election.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Duckworth is expected to attend a Chicago fundraiser Monday with supporters after she announces her Senatorial bid.
U.S. Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL,11) is also mulling whether to jump into the 2016 Illinois U.S. Senate race.
