Former Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is now at halfway house in Baltimore.
He checked in at the Volunteers of America halfway house late Thursday following his release from a federal prison in Alabama.
"I've made mistakes and I'm prayful and hopeful that we're a country of second chances, that the American people and the people of the City of Chicago will consider me for a second chance," Jackson Jr. reportedly said outside the halfway house.
Since November of 2013, the disgraced former congressman has been serving a 30-month sentence for misusing some $750,000 in campaign funds. His release date is currently scheduled for September 20, 2015.
