U.S. Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL,10) has been added to potential 2016 presidential candidate U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-WI, 1) list of "strong conservative candidates who share Chairman Ryan's vision of common-sense fiscal policies."
Dold is on the list of lawmakers on the Prosperity Action Victory Project website, which lists Ryan as honorary chairman. Dold voted in favor of Ryan's controversial budget proposals. Politicos in Dold's district say they are not surprised to see Dold on the list.
"We are familiar with Bob Dold's attempts to win in an area that consistently votes for a Democratic presidential candidate. We know he desperately tries to portray himself as a moderate. We also know it's not true," reads a release from Tenth Dems, a group that works to get Democrats elected in the district.
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL,13) is the only other Illinois lawmaker on the Prosperity Action Victory Project's list at the moment.
