Chicago is likely to be the home of the Obama presidential library, according to sources.
It is unclear, however, which of the proposed city parks, Washington or Jackson, the library will be placed. Despite mounting chatter that Chicago has won the bid, no formal announcement has been made on the location, and such a declaration may be weeks away. The offices for the president and Barack Obama Foundation may, however, be housed in New York, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Last week, the Illinois General Assembly paved the way for the Obama presidential library, or any similar facility, to be built in an area that encompasses one of Chicago's park lands.
