The teachers strike in McHenry High School District 156 continues Friday after contract negotiations ended earlier today without resolution.
Union and school district representatives plan to meet for another negotiation session later today.
Teachers began their work stoppage on October 1. Salaries have been a key sticking point in negotiations.
Classes and other school activities remain canceled in the district. This weekend's homecoming dance has been postponed.
UPDATE 1 (10/11/15): The union and school district have reportedly reached a tentative agreement over the weekend. Details on the contract will not be released until the deal is ratfied, which will likely occur on Monday. Students are expected to return to class on Tuesday.
