Citizen Action/Illinois, a public interest organization and a progressive political coalition, has endorsed U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL,8) for U.S. Senate.

Duckworth is running against Andrea Zopp, former president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League, in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary. The two are vying for U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk's (R-IL) seat.

"Congresswoman Duckworth has demonstrated through her distinguished service to our country and her record in Congress that as a U.S. senator she will fight for America's working and middle class with intelligence and tenacity," said Citizen Action/Illinois Co-Director William McNary.
