Proposals are being sought from developers for the first phase of the Cabrini-Green redevelopment project, the Chicago Housing Authority and city announced Tuesday.
Developers have until April 29 to turn in proposals.
The project's first phase involves the redevelopment of three different 17-acre plots, which will eventually include a minimum of 900 total mixed-income housing units. Public housing will make up 33 percent to 40 percent of those units.
The larger Cabrini-Green redevelopment project involves creating at least 2,330 housing units at the overall 65-acre site. Of the units to be built, 30 percent are to be designated for public housing.
