Medical marijuana sales in Illinois hit $1.9 million in March, up 30 percent from February.
Sales haven't been that high in Illinois since the program first began in November. The state has seen $6.3 million in total medical marijuana sales.
Some 5,500 patients in Illinois have been approved for the state's medical marijuana pilot program, which is currently scheduled to run for four years and come to an end in January 2018.
Approved patients can purchase medical marijuana at 32 dispensaries.
Illinois' pilot program for medical marijuana covers patients with specific debilitating medical conditions, such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and HIV/AIDS.
