Six people died over the Memorial Day weekend in shooting incidents across Chicago. In all, there were at least 69 individuals shot in the city over the holiday weekend.
On Monday, there were two fatal shootings. James Taylor, 44, was fatally shot in Washington Park and Johan Jean, 25, was shot and killed in West Rogers Park. The separate shootings both took place at about 11 p.m.
Chicago saw six fewer fatal shootings this Memorial Day weekend than last year, when 12 people were shot and killed in the city during the holiday weekend. Overall, there were 13 more shooting incidents this Memorial Day weekend when compared to 2015.
