Lloyd Karmeier Selected As Next IL Supreme Court Chief Justice

The Illinois Supreme Court unanimously selected Justice Lloyd Karmeier as its next chief justice Monday. 

Karmeier, who was first elected to the state's high court in 2004, will begin his three-year term as Illinois Supreme Court chief justice starting October 26. 

He will succeed Chief Justice Rita Garman.
