Debates are scheduled next week between the Illinois candidates running for U.S. Senate and the 13th congressional district.
The State Journal-Register is co-sponsoring the debates, the first of which is set for Tuesday between incumbent Republican Congressman Rodney Davis and Democratic opponent Mark Wicklund in the 13th congressional district race.
The debate, to be held at the newspaper's building, starts at 6:30 p.m. It will be livestreamed at the newspaper's website, and 970 WMAY-AM will also air the forum.
Incumbent U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Democratic challenger Tammy Duckworth will debate on Thursday evening. The U.S. Senate debate starts at 7 p.m. at the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium.
