Seventeen people were killed and another 42 were wounded in violence in Chicago over the weekend, bringing the total number of homicides so far this year to 638.
The weekend was reportedly the city's most violent this year.
Seven of the 17 people killed over the weekend were under the age of 20, according to the Chicago Tribune. Among the victims: a 14-year-old honor student who was killed Saturday in a drive-by shooting in South Austin as he helped his father move out of an apartment building and twin 17-year-old brothers who were killed Sunday in a drive-by shooting in Old Town.
Chicago has had at least 3,662 shootings in 2016.
